WORKSHOP: Metalsmithing—Texture Transfers

with Alyse-Ambriel Hanna

In this beginner-friendly introduction to metalsmithing led by artist Alyse-Ambriel Hanna, learn how to incorporate texture into jewelry design. Participants will design and create a wearable metal pendant using found objects, stamps, and texture hammers to transfer patterns into the metal.

Age & ability: 16+; all levels; beginners welcome!

About the Instructor

Alyse-Ambriel Hanna is a Boise-based artist trained in art education, metalsmithing, and vitreous enameling. Hanna utilizes metalsmithing, photography, video, and sculpture to create conversations that empower women and cultivate positive change. She has created installations at Surel’s Place, and her work has been featured in The Art of Fine Enameling (2019) by Karen L. Cohen. Hanna has won several awards and honors for her work and is working towards her MFA at Boise State University.

This workshop is offered in partnership with Boise State University’s Department of Art, Design and Visual Studies.
