Mexican Folkloric Dance is designed for youth and teens who have some previous dance experience and are ready to build their skills in traditional Mexican folkloric dance. Students should be comfortable learning choreography, following rhythmic patterns, and developing increasingly complex movement and footwork.
Through movement, music, and structured instruction, students will strengthen coordination, rhythm, posture, zapateado (footwork), skirt work, and performance skills while learning dances rooted in Mexican folkloric traditions.
Instruction is offered primarily in Spanish, with English support as needed, creating a bilingual and culturally enriching learning environment. This class emphasizes continued skill development, technique, confidence, and ensemble work, preparing students to take on more advanced choreography and performance opportunities.
Intermediate Level. Age & ability: 10–16 years old. Some previous dance experience recommended.
This workshop takes place every Tuesday from 5:30-7pm.
October 6 - December 1st, 9 sessions in total.
