Try your hand at\n printmaking using a press. Cut a 4x6 linoleum block and do a simple\none-c olor print. Work from images provided in the Open Studio\, or bring in\nyo ur own to work from. You are also welcome to bring your own paper to\nprin t on. Museum staff will assist with using the press and teaching some\nba sics of printmaking.
All printmaking materials are provided at\n the Open Studio.

Join acclaimed artist Yidan Guo for an\nengaging calligraphy workshop at the Sun Valley Museum of Art (SVMoA).\nPresented in partnership with The C ommunity Library\, this hands-on session\ninvites participants to explore the artistry\, technique\, and cultural\nsignificance of calligraphy. The workshop will begin with a demonstration\nand explanation of the art of ca lligraphy before participants will have the\nopportunity to practice their own brushwork.
The workshop follows\nYidan’s talk at The Communi ty Library on Mon\, Feb 24\, at 5pm\, which is\nheld in conjunction with t he library’s 2025 Winter Read\, Four Treasures\nof the Sky by Jenny Ting hui Zhang. While the workshop may touch on themes\nfrom the book\, its pri mary focus will be on the expressive and technical\naspects of calligraphy .

About th e Artist
\nPocatello-based ar tist Yidan Guo\, trained at the China\nCentral Academy of Fine Arts\, blen ds her early calligraphy practice with\npainting and drawing in exhibition s from China to the U.S. Since moving to\nIdaho in 2019\, she has pursued an MFA at Idaho State University\, creating\nprojects like Women Who Are I mmigrants and the commemorative Memorial\nBanners honoring Chinese railroa d workers.
\nJoin acclaimed artist Yidan Guo for an\nengaging calligr aphy workshop at the Sun Valley Museum of Art (SVMoA).\nPresented in partn ership with The Community Library\, this hands-on session\ninvites partici pants to explore the artistry\, technique\, and cultural\nsignificance of calligraphy. The workshop will begin with a demonstration\nand explanation of the art of calligraphy before participants will have the\nopportunity to practice their own brushwork.
The workshop follows\nYidan’s ta lk at The Community Library on Mon\, Feb 24\, at 5pm\, which is\nheld in c onjunction with the library’s 2025 Winter Read\, Four Treasures\nof the Sky by Jenny Tinghui Zhang. While the workshop may touch on themes\nfrom t he book\, its primary focus will be on the expressive and technical\naspec ts of calligraphy.
