Winter Workshop
Monday & Tuesday, December 22–23, 2025 — 2:00 PM
Play, create, discover, and celebrate creativity!
Join SVMoA for a two-day Winter Workshop featuring hands-on, winter-inspired artmaking at both the Hailey Classroom and the Museum. This year’s workshop centers on heirloom ornament making, with a special featured project offered each day.
Featured Projects
Monday: Embossed Tin Ornaments
Learn the art of embossing as you design and create your own tin ornaments. Participants will shape, texture, and embellish metal to craft beautiful keepsakes that capture the shimmer and spirit of the season.
Tuesday: Family Photo Ornaments
Strike a pose at our simple holiday backdrop! We’ll take and print your photo, then guide you through a solvent transfer onto fabric. Participants may embroider their transferred image by hand, or work with a machine sewist who will assist with finishing the ornament into a treasured family heirloom.
Additional Art Activities
Throughout both days, families can enjoy a variety of winter-themed creative stations, including:
- Snow globes
- Hand-printed gift wrap (linocut printmaking)
- Painting, collage, sculpture, and other seasonal art activities that invite imagination and play.
Warm up your hands with hot chocolate and other festive treats as you craft, explore, and celebrate the magic of winter traditions from around the world.
Open to all ages and skill levels. Families encouraged to attend. Come share in the joy of making, learning, and creating together!
Drop in anytime between 2 - 4pm
